Dan, Ana, & Zackary

Christmas was so much fun with the baby! He really caught on on how to open his presents. It was so cute-of course, the paper went straight to the mouth each and every time. As a family, we celebrated Christmas on the 24th. We were in no hurry to wake up early (like my mom always IS). Once we woke up, we read the Christmas story in Luke 2 and thanked the Lord for His perfect gift. Zackary sat so nice on his Daddy’s lap listening. <3

We then opened our stockings and Zackary got his sippy cup-which he is throughly enjoying. He’s so funny when he is drinking it. He makes the best faces. He just needs to learn to tip it up to get the juice. He looks so much older now-especially after he went through the 6 month growth spurt!

Then on to presents! From Mommy and Daddy, Zackary got a taggie toy that he loved (he loves all tags on anything!), a ball popper toy, and a Colts outfit. We love the Colts! For his birthday I wanna get him a jersey . Mommy and Daddy also enjoyed giving and spoiling each other with presents – with games, clothes, and sweets.

Mommy and Daddy then played games and momma cooked Christmas dinner. We had a roasting chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, gravy, and homemade pumpkin pie for Dan.

On the 25th, the Dan’s parents and siblings came over and we opened presents with them. Zackary got SPOILED rotten by them all! Unfortunately after opening presents he desperately needed a nap. So down he went. When he woke up we all headed out to Buffalo and celebrate with the extended Safee family and had Christmas dinner at Aunt Kris’ house. Once again the baby was spoiled by everyone out there as well!! He loves his puppy from Uncle Jamie!

Christmas celebrating didn’t end there-on Sunday we headed over to my sister’s house to celebrate with my side of the family. We opened presents immediately upon walking in the door because we had 7 anxious kids waiting!! AND my mom!!! My mom spoiled me again. And Zackary got a bunch of cute toys from them all. My mom got Dan a camcorder-neat! Its so fun to watch Zackary and David interact with each other and crawling around together. lol! I wanted to video them but didn’t have any batteries. My mom made 2 amazing quiches for brunch-SO GOOD! Next Sunday we head to Hornell to see my extended family to celebrate. Zackary will meet a lot of my family because he has only met my cousin Rebecca. No one else. So that will be fun!

And before I forget, the Dressner family came over the week before Christmas and had dinner with us and they also brought the baby gifts. CUTE clothes and toys. Jennie found a My First Christmas 2010 bear that I love and think it will be become the Baby’s First Christmas Tradition we have for our babies.

Trying to snap a picture of Zackary and his favorite monkey is like pulling teeth. He wants to grab and eat it before I can manage to snap the camera! Silly boy! The monkey is looking little…

Zackary hit a huge milestone-his half birthday! Growing at rapid speed every day and regressing once again in his sleeping habits. But we’re loving every minute of it. He learned how to crawl a week before he turned 6 months old. That has been lovely. It didn’t cure his frustration because now he gets mad when he is told no or when a toy rolls away from him once he gets to it. Sigh. He still isn’t sitting up yet on his own but once again, Momma is in no hurry for another milestone. I’m thankful that he is a Momma’s boy through and through because even though he loves to get down and play now he still loves to lay on Momma’s lap to talk, cuddle and play. He melts my heart heart with that big smile and giving me a kiss when I ask and even if I dont. SO adorable (and wet!!).

Upon reaching this big day, we are so happy that he has reached this mark with the SIDS risk decreasing. What a HUGE sigh of relief. I’ll probably still keep him on his monitor though until the next baby comes just because I am paranoid.

Did I mention here that Zackary cut his first 2 teeth last week!? at 5 months old we have the 2 bottom teeth. We also learned that he has no pain tolerance and was up all night crying over the pain. My poor guy. Thankfully since they both have come all the way through the gums he has relaxed and doesn’t need medicine anymore to make him happy temporarily. I hope to get a picture soon but he’s still not to keen on letting people take a look. He is also threatening to crawl already. Gets up on all fours and rocks. So far he only goes backwards! AND he is learning how to move around in his walker-also only going backwards most of the time. Zackary is also really enjoying his homemade baby food-mus more than the few jarred food he got. His favorite so far is butternut squash! Our baby is growing up. Sigh.

Thanks to Chrisie, of Cobblestone Photography, for our great family Christmas pictures and Zackary’s 6 month photo shoot! They’re so cute and capture his personality so well. We used them for our Christmas cards that will be going out soon. Isn’t he so cute?!?

Wow! I can’t believe its been a month since I last updated. Vacation and holidays starting our life got alittle busy. I did manage to take Zackary’s 5 month picture last month He has turned into a very curious boy who wants everything in his mouth. This past picture session was difficult and we needed Daddy’s help. He also turned 5 months old on Thanksgiving day so take note of his cute shirt!! (btw, my camera setting is off because we did take the pictures on the 25th!)

Here are some incredibly cute pictures of our little guy. The first few are of how I get laundry done with a baby in the house and our laundry facilities in the basement of the complex – he thinks it great fun! Then a couple of Zackary and Daddy playing Scrabble. Yes. He plays Scrabble, just like Dan says he does . Next, are ones from Zackary working out the computer with Daddy. Hilarious! He’s a pro already. Look closely – he can even work the mouse! Talented boy. And to end the pictures, ones of Zackary snuggling his Daddy and then sleeping in his crib in a completely different position and location than what he was placed in. So funny when I go in to get him-he is so proud of himself for moving all around. Yet he refuses to do it while on the floor in the livingroom. Little punk!

Last Wednesday we introduced Zackary to the world of solid food. It was a fun experience and he was very curious about it all. Daddy loved to feed him for the first time. It wasn’t too messy-of course I’m OCD about that stuff and kept reminding Dan to be careful, don’t let him touch it, don’t let him put his hand in the bowl. Some may criticize me but I’m not a parent who can let their child make a complete mess out of every meal. It may not end up in his hair or all of the floor. No sir. We have manners. Okay, off that tangent. And yes, I’m dreading the first cake experience on the first birthday. LOL.

All in all, he seemed to enjoy it but has slowly been not too impressed by it. Much to my surprise. Now he acts like I’m gagging him with it and will turn away and not want it. So I’ve backed off the past few days and am giving him a break. Maybe we’ll try banana’s next.

Here are the photos from our big day! He looks so amazingly cute! At first he’s eyeing everything wondering what in the world is going on, then he was more interested in eating the bib and then he was trying to grab at the bowl. In the end he had a huge smile on his face and Daddy sang to him playing the guitar while Momma cleaned up. He even started singing with Dan-so cute! Tried to video it but he stopped. Stinker. One day I’ll be able to add videos here that I’ve taken (hint hint Honey).

Last Thursday Zackary and I had the opportunity to spend an entire day with Aunt Jewelia over at our house. She was a very good girl and Zackary just loves to watch her and listen to her read to him. Its pretty cute.

As Jewels played on the floor, I layed the baby on the floor to watch her play and to get in some tummy time. She also held him quite a few times throughout the day. It was fun day.

After school Uncle Noah came over to play too. He wants to hold the baby a lot too-so then the arguing over whose turn it was started. I’m glad they both love him so much.

This is my favorite picture of the night. As Noah was holding Zackary he was holding his hand, rubbing it, playing with it – it was so cute and lovable! I loved it!

All in all, Thursday are a great day with the family
